Jim Lewis, James Lewis

Jim joined A Step Ahead Physical Therapy in 2012 and has been a physical therapist for more than 25 years. In addition to being a physical therapist, Jim is a professor passionate about educating students of physical therapy. He began his education career in 2010 working as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Georgia State University. In 2014 he moved to Brenau University where he continues to teach today as an Associate Professor. Jim’s teaching includes gross and functional anatomy, musculoskeletal disorders, radiology, prosthetics/orthotics, differential diagnosis, and professional development.

As a physical therapist, Jim’s focus is on orthopedics and joint related injury of the spine and extremities. His research interests include cadaver studies as related to clinical orthopedic pathologies, prevention and wellness. Jim holds three degrees giving him extensive knowledge of the human body. He began his education graduating from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Education Exercise and Sports Sciences. He then obtained his certification and license as an Athletic Trainer. He received his second degree, a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy, from Georgia State University before going on to get his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Boston University in 2007. Jim is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association of Georgia and American Clinical Anatomy Association.
