Amy Keating

Amy joined A Step Ahead Physical Therapy in 2014 and has been a physical therapist since 2006. Prior to becoming a physical therapist, Amy was a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for six years.

 

As a PTA, Amy worked in acute care and subacute rehabilitation facilities which lead to her passion for treating seniors and neurological patients. Since becoming a PT, Amy has worked in subacute rehabilitation, assisted and independent senior living communities (including memory care) and in outpatient rehabilitation. She has taken courses in neurological rehabilitation, kinesiology taping, orthopedics, functional mobility, geriatrics, total joint replacement, balance disorders and vestibular rehabilitation.

Amy received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame and went on to obtain an Associate of Science in Physical Therapy Assistant from Gwinnett Technical College. She completed her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of North Georgia. Amy is certified in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA Level 1) and the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) as well as Dry Needling. 

As an active member of the community, Amy previously served as a medical contributor for Local Life Publishing which publishes community magazines for Roswell, Alpharetta, Milton, and Woodstock. She is a member of the Homeowner’s Association board and involved with her church, St. Peter Chanel. As a native of Roswell, Amy grew up ½ of a mile from A Step Ahead Physical Therapy and now resides in Crabapple with her husband and children.
