PT, Owner, Clinic Director, Corporate Health Management Director
Brad is the founder and owner of A Step Ahead Physical Therapy and is certified in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA 1&2), Functional Movement Screen (FMS 1&2), and Y-Balance Test. He has been practicing for over 30 years and believes in a holistic approach in assessing each individual and not limiting them to an injured body part. His philosophy of personalized, hands-on care is the core value of A Step Ahead Physical Therapy.
Brad’s specialties include sports performance, injury prevention, geriatrics, and vestibular rehabilitation. He provides functional movement analysis and corrective strategies for activities across a wide spectrum from getting out of a chair to excelling on the athletic field.
Prior to founding A Step Ahead Physical Therapy, Brad was the Director of Rehab at Baptist Medical Center (currently Northside Hospital Forsyth). He served as a member of the Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy from 2002 to 2006, servicing as President for one term. Brad is a member of the Academy of Prevention and Health Promotion Therapies (APHPT), the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia (PTAG). He is an active member of the PTAG Legislative Committee and was instrumental in lobbying for Direct Access in the state of Georgia. The Direct Access legislation gives patients control of their own health by allowing them direct access to a physical therapist without a primary care physician’s referral. The culmination of his activities has led to Brad receiving the Merit Award for Exceptional Service and Achievement in Practice from the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia in 2016.
Brad played soccer for Berry College for 3 years and graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy. He continues to be an active member of the community serving and supporting many charitable causes including Fellowship Bible Church, Camp Grace, She is Safe, Wiphan, North Fulton Community Charities, as well as serving as a guest lecturer in the Physical Therapy programs at Brenau University and Georgia State University, where he was awarded the 2015 Distinguished Alumnus Award for his contribution to the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Brad has been actively involved in various local High School and Club Sports programs through coaching, medical team support, and booster club sponsorship. Brad and his wife, Cindy, have two adult daughters and are active members of Fellowship Bible Church.
