Runners who weight train experience lower energy cost of running, run greater distances at maximum effort, and maintain more consistent stride length as they fatigue, but not all weight training programs are equal! Join us for research-based workouts that take you from general strengthening to power training and running-specific activities so you can run better, farther, and faster.
The first class on January 7 will consist of a Functional Movement Screen (a $165 value) to identify and address any areas where you are at risk for injury. Subsequent classes will focus on strengthening programming to make you a more efficient, more effective runner.
MONDAYS & THURSDAYS
7-8 AM starting JANUARY 7
Classes will run every Monday and Thursday morning at 7 AM at A Step Ahead starting January 7, 2019. RunStrong is a 10-week program led by licensed physical therapists with expert knowledge of exercise physiology, kinesiology, and running. Each class consists of research-based exercises that have been shown to improve performance in runners who race every distance from 5Ks to ultra-marathons.
Classes are $20/class for drop-ins, or participants can register for all 20 classes at once for $15/class ($300 total). Class size is limited.
The last class for this season will take place on March 14, 2018.
