Rachel Baxter, PT, DPT


Rachel joined A Step Ahead in 2021 and has been a physical therapist since 2020.

Rachel has experience working in outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation, assisted living facilities, senior living communities, and in the home setting. She enjoys working with all ages, and especially enjoys treating orthopedic injuries and the weekend warrior athlete. She is also licensed in dry needling.

Rachel received her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Georgia College and State University. She then earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Mercer University in Atlanta. Rachel completed and published her undergraduate research on the impact of yoga on stress levels. She completed and presented her graduate research on caring for patients with dementia in the acute care setting.

Rachel is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) as well as the Georgia chapter of the APTA. In her free time, Rachel enjoys hiking and getting outdoors with her husband and furry children, Hazel and Scooby. She recently moved to East Cobb and is enjoying exploring and getting to know the area!
