Physical Therapists
Brad Freemyer, PT/Owner
With more than 23 years of experience, Brad has a treatment philosophy that values personalized, hands-on care. He believes in finding and treating the root of the problem rather than just treating the symptoms. Brad previously designed and operated the outpatient physical therapy department at Northside Hospital Forsyth, served on the Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy, and owned and operated his mobile practice prior to opening his current practice.
Brad has an extensive background in sports, especially soccer, and offers great insight to sports related cases. Brad has played soccer for over 30 years including collegiate soccer at Berry College. Today, Brad is very involved in the sport as a high school coach and supports the athletes of surrounding Fellowship Christian, Blessed Trinity, and Roswell high schools. He understands what it takes to meet the physical therapy needs of sports enthusiasts through personal and specialized programs. He is an avid fan of his two daughter's multiple sport's teams and his wife's Tennis Team at Fellowship Christian School where she coaches and teaches.
In addition, Brad has expertise in the area of Geriatrics and Vestibular Rehab. He enjoys working with Seniors and believes that age should never be a reason to either be in pain or restricted from activity.
Amy Gross, PT,DPT,OCS,CSCS.
Amy believe's the rehab process is a shared responsibility between the physical therapist and patient. To ensure success during the process of recovery and rehabilitation it is important to work together to set attainable goals as a part of your personalized treatment plan. During Amy's years of practice she has come to understand that it is her responsibility to enable you, as the patient, to facilitate your strengths, overcome your weaknesses, and succeed in the total body healing process.
On a personal note, Amy and her husband Jon moved to Canton, GA in May of 2004 and 16 months later welcomed their daughter, Rowan. December of 2009 welcomed a second daughter, Reese. Amy's time away from the clinic is spent attempting to recapture her college "dancing days", supporting her husband's soccer team, and discovering the nuances of a being a mother of now two little girls.
Marian Saunders, PT
Marian Saunders is the newest addition to the staff at A Step Ahead Physical Therapy. With 26 years of PT experience, she brings with her a wealth of experience. Over the 20+ years Marian has been in the field, she has seen and done it all. While she does specialize in orthopedics and geriatric rehab, she welcomes working with any type of patient.
To give you just a little background on Marian, she was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, along with her 12 brothers and sisters. She moved to Atlanta from Chicago two years ago with her husband, Kevin, with whom she has two daughters, Amy and Laura. When not performing PT, she spends her time performing such “saintly” duties as adopting rescued dogs (she has two- Riley and Artie) and teaching religion classes to 4th graders. In years past, her time away from PT was spent playing and coaching soccer, as well as being involved with her daughters’ dance classes.
